What I did
- Paired a MAX16150 pushbutton on/off controller with a TPS62162 synchronous buck converter after comparing candidates on standby current, ESD rating, and efficiency.
- The controller tolerates ±60 V on the button input and survives ±15 kV HBM ESD, which matters for the one part people actually touch.
- Stacked the board Top / Ground / Power / Bottom to keep the switching return path tight.
- Fabrication-ready: Gerber X2 and Excellon drill files, ready to send to a fab as-is.
